Colonel
Lapointe died in 1855 and his grandchild Louis Albert
inherited Hofgut Imsbach . Louis Lapointe and his
wife Bertha Wilhemine Freifrau von Hammerstein are
the ones that the people of Theley remember well.
Things changed for Hofgut in the 30s, after Baroness
Bertha’s death. Following arguments over the
inheritance and ten years of negotiations between
different owners, the banker Georg Müller bought
Hofgut Imsbach and carried on with its agriculture.
During the Third Reich Hofgut was used as a prison
and at the end of the war became property of the
Saarland . In 1952 it was used as an independent
administration of justice and later the Theley prison
up to 1965.
At long last, after having been left to its fate
for so many years Hofgut Imsbach was given a new
function through the concept for ecological farming,
education and leisure. With both great zeal and
respect for its influential history it has been
restored to its present state. |
